The Lens Baby Velvet 56 is one heck of a lens!

I don’t often review products such as the Lensbabay Velvet 56 simply because I’d rather be using it that reviewing it.  When I use a product that is simply out of the norm I just have to write something about it and this product from Lensbaby is one of them.

Below is the Lensbaby velvet 56 video created at launch time.  It’s a pretty good overview of what this lens can do and why the built it.  In the end you need to try it to get it!

Who should use the Lensbaby Velvet 56 lens?

This lens is for one type of photographer, the creative one.  If you’re looking to experiment and play around with what you can do in camera this is an exciting lens to use. I’ve added a couple Lensbaby velvet 56 sample images here and will add more to my Flickr page over time.  I will say that although tricky to use at first within hours you’ll be able to make the most unusual and boring item look cool.  Take it up one level and this creative lens will open your eyes wide.  The unique effects you can achieve with this lens are ideal for those taking creative photos.

Final thoughts in my Lensbaby Velvet 56mm f/1.6 lens review

Permanently mounted on my Sony A7 this lens is ideal for capturing a moment in a new and very different light.  Keep it with you and experiment and challenge your own view of photography.
