In this sports photo the Canon 1 DX shows its real power.  Freezing the power and intensity of both horse and jockey right out of the gate of this quarter horse race.  Every muscle is needed to both control the horse and harness its power releasing it down the track.  For the flagship camera the 1DX is well equipped to handle this event.  With the numerous settings to lock the focus on the action Canon has made this camera extremely versatile for such sports action shots.  Maybe, to a point it has to many options but then again more is better when it comes to the workhorse camera body.

This black and white sample image was taken on the Canon 1 DX using the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Telephoto Zoom Lens.  A power combo focus is quick and accurate.  Modifications were made in Lightroom to convert it to B&W as well enhance the overall effect.  Slight sharpening was used to as well to make this image pop.
