Cedar Run Rawhide Rodeo

What a great day up at Cedar Run this Sunday.  The weather was perfect and the rodeo was none stop action.  Thanks to Barry at The Rider for setting me up with a press pass and Nicole at Cedar Run for showing me around.

The crowd was pumped and the action was on for two and a half hours.  From the bareback riding to the barrel racing it was go go go.  As expected the bull riding was the main event and didn’t disappoint.  While taking the photos of the Rawhide Rodeo bull riders looking through the lens my mind was always on the bull.  Up against the fence snapping photos I knew I was crouched at a very vulnerable location.  Once the rider was bucked off the bull my mind switched to staying safe.

Quick paced and fast moving the team roping and barrel racing reminded me of the Quarter Horse racing at Ajax Downs – quick and fast action.  With almost 1000 photos to pour over I’ll post the best on Flickr and Facebook this week.  For now I have a few shots to whet your appetite. Thanks again Barry and Nicole for a great day at the rodeo!
